Denver Deal: Qdoba, McDonalds, Free Days and More

I have been a guest to several shows at the Denver Center for a couple years now. There are some shows that stick out in my mind such as the big-name ones like Wicked and Annie! But the ones I seem to like the best are the ones that surprise me. I really liked Peter and the Starcatcher a couple years ago, and The 12 earlier this year.  That is why I’m very excited to see LookingGlass Alice. The show is supposed to be about Alice’s trip down the rabbit hole. The description says it is funny and imaginative transporting audiences down the rabbit hole to a circus-infused playground. It is only here September 11 through October 11 and tickets are part of the Denver Center’s reduced-price ticket program.

Denver Deal: Free Days, Health Event, Theater and More

I am going to be a home owner! I just learned that I won the bid on a HUD home. I have to say I love the term “won bid.” It makes me giggle a little – a little like I won the lotto or something (which I also played this week since I had a pretty fantastic week). Owning a house also scares me. I am a deals blogger so I will be looking to do all kinds of updates on this house – all within a pretty tight budget. I have become obsessed with HGTV and DIY shows. I keep checking prices of updates on HomeAdvisor.com. They have this fancy cost estimator.

Denver Deal: Free Days, Starbucks, Beauty Brands and Butterflies

Do your kids have a favorite shirt or outfit? You know, the one that they seem to get dressed in all.the.time. Like, every single time you tell them to change or get dressed they end up in that same shirt. I would nag them to go change that this was something like the 10 millionth time that I have seen them in this shirt (and  that I’m fairly certain it had not been washed that much). It was just brought to my attention (by my kids no less) that apparently I have a favorite shirt. Yes, the same “repeater infraction.” But…but…but. I love it! It is the Gobi Shirt from White Sierra. (I also think they meant to spell it as Gobi Desert shirt – but on the website it is listed as Dessert (which is does feel as awesome as sweets – so maybe it was an intentional Freudian Slip). I love that there is a little pocket tucked in the side of it and it is so lightweight and whisks off sweat I can wear it hiking or looks good enough to go out or just chilling at home.

Denver Deal: Bass Pro Shop, Hot Pursuit Movie, Cherry Creek North Expo and More

My kids were never into Legos. While I thought they were cool – I guess I didn’t have the imagination to make something spectacular out of them (and as a parent I stepped on a few in the middle of the night and it really hurt). But the FREE Lego Exhibit at Park Meadows Mall of our American National Monuments is very cool. Having gone to D.C. with my kids last summer and seeing these amazing monuments in person, I was astonished at the size and complexity of the ones at the mall. Maybe this will inspire both myself and my kids to like Legos a little more..again.
